This audiobook took a number of hours, to say the least. I started on it at the end of August 2021 and submitted it on December 24. Though much work, it was personally enjoyable in many ways. And it was a good way to spend my “free” time.
There is so much good information in it, and not just the parts concerning the doctrine of Predestination. Those parts were great–thorough in every way. But also the sections on God’s ultimate victory, and on how Calvinism shaped our modern concepts of liberty– so very helpful. Seeing modern governmental tyranny while reading about older tyranny, I know now exactly the means God uses to defeat the kingdoms of this world that do not bow the knee to King Jesus. The book bolstered my long-held views of God’s absolute sovereignty, sharpened my focus, and gave me encouragement in the midst of these dark and uncertain times. Not only are my times in His hand (Ps 31:15), but these times are also in His hand. Indeed, He has decreed them from eternity!
